My kids love you, but my hips despise you. The coupons in the weekly mailer make a dollar savings and when a party potluck comes up I find myself at your drive up window. I have to admit with all the chicken offerings in this neighborhood the taste is good. The sauce is spicy and tasty, not just heat. The rice is my downfall along with your friends the fried apple pies. Now if a certain other chicken eatery by another name (*ahem* ppl go here on Sunday!) were to make a home in this area you would have some competition. For now, you come here to do what you do and in my opinion you do it good. One tip can the drive thru widen a bit after the window. I'm scrapes and scratches happen here. It can be hard scoring a box on holidays, because ppl are lined up inside and out. The parking lot can get into situations, but for the most part this place is fast and easy. They now accept credit. Waiting in line can get long. In and out from the drive is tricky if coming from east to get in and going west to come out.

ZERO star. Very poor customer service. Lazy staff. Even if they see a long line the staff has no urgency at all to move faster. Compare this to Popeyes in palatine they always have chicken available and the service is fast. I hope the owner re bump his staff and teach his staff of proper customer service. Somebody needs to open up another Popeyes around this area with better service and I bet you it's gonna make money.

I normally hate to give bad reviews (if you can't say something nice, etc). But this has eaten at me for long enough. This was probably some time last year. Someone told me there was a Popeye's on Golf. I was kinda stoked because I'd not been since I lived in the city over 10 years ago. However, my experience with this place was the worst one ever. I went through the drive through, thinking it would just be a simple order. The lady taking my order was rather abrupt, but figured she was just busy. When I misunderstood something on the menu, she was downright rude. Then she asked me to hold on. I was holding on for over five minutes. The guy behind me was beeping at me. I finally asked "Is anyone there?" Her voice came over the intercom, "Oh, you're still there." I was so livid, and so disappointed. I don't know if it was exactly at this point or some other point shortly after, but I finally said to forget it and cancel my order. I ended up going to the KFC on Dempster. Much more friendly and easier to deal with. I've had nothing good to say about this place ever since. Would never, ever recommend it. Not the chain itself - just this particular location.

I had a positive outlook coming into this place however it quickly turned. It's very dirty and the customer service put ed debevic"s and winner circle to shame no recipt back however I looked at my cell after I ordered and a whopping 25 min for my order which was interesting as 3 people that worked there all got there order sat down and ate and I still didn't get mine yet. Usally other places will give u a free side or some extra chicken and apologize not here one of the guys handed me my bag and said see ya... I am not recommending this place to others or going back.

Popeye's chicken is awesome but holy hell does this location suck. You are always going to end up waiting minutes for your food no matter what you order and whether there's a line or not (in your car no less - drive to the front and wait bs). I've been overcharged before, given the wrong order, and I swear that every time I've ordered a chicken wrap (which they don't seem to have anymore), not a single employee here knows how to properly wrap it. Pull it out of the paper and it just falls apart. Come onnnn. I imagine upper management would have a field day with this place if they knew how it was operating.

This Popeyes is a joke! They get my order right, but only because they take one order at a time. Horribly inefficient! If they were smart they would take the orders right away so they can at least get the food started instead of having you wait until they finish one order to start the next one!

Terrible service for drive through. The intercoms is barely working, and then they ways make us wait at least 5 min. They make you pull into a dangerous spot next to the busy road. It's ridiculous. The food is really good though.

Worst ever! I've always been happy with other popeyes but this one... horrible! Went here because my husband was craving for rip and chick(seen on tv and made him drool). Went on drive thru, ordered it, and said they weren't making it at the moment, only fried chickens. Ok thats fine. So we settled for 3 piece chicken and they asked what side. We said fries. Then they said "we're also not making that at the moment!" We didn't get it... how come they weren't making any of the ones we wanted? Anyways, so we just cancelled the order and left. We passed by the front and there were like 8 workers standing around the counter. So none of them couldn't make it??

They offer a box for 5 bucks with 2 sides and I went and got only 1 side!! Guy at drive thru never asked me if I wanted another side!! They don't care here so go somewhere else like Mariano's across the street they have better ckn anyway!!!

Love me some Popeye's Chicken. I saw this a year or so ago on Undercover Boss. They didn't visit this location but should have. I think sometimes they try to be nice and courteous, at least as best as they can, but they are SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. Drive Through - Forget about it! Dine in? It is not a clean store by any means Carry out? you have to always wait forever! Forever!!! It is not that the service is slow, because it really is. The employees move like molasses too. They can be pleasant enough. Often apologize for delays. They never have enough chicken or whatever made. They claim it is because it is dinner time? Ummm HELLO....Its a Wednesday dinner -and I would like some Chicken. Between KFC and Popeyes, I prefer Popeyes, but with the construction, their very very dated facility, and the grueling service....I will pass. Its a shame. Been to so many better ones...

I definitely love me some Popeyes. This is one of the first locations I've frequented when I first moved to the Chicago burbs. Turning into this particular location is dangerous for your rear bumper since the entrance is right near the corner of Golf and Harlem and the drive thru is a little narrow but if you're willing to wait a few minutes, the chicken is divine. I don't eat here often but I'm generally satisfied with my meal when I do.

About once a month we splurge and enjoy. However, my last trip we were asked to wait six minutes (which was perfectly fine) by one of the servers. She was polite about everything. However, I noticed another server bagging up chicken (male) and told her it was ready then and there. Okay, yay! Well we got home and the male server had put in spicy chicken to compensate for the order. We do not eat spicy and was disappointed about that. Otherwise, no problems before in years and yeah, there can be a "wait time" once in a while, but it's not outrageous. Customer service has always been good too.

You come for the Chicken and put up with what ever it takes to get that chicken! Yes they are busy, yes it's ALWAYS packed, and yes it sometimes takes time to get your order. but that's all because they are GREAT!

The cars line up here on any given evening and nearly put themselves in danger of getting hit by oncoming traffic. Why? Not because this place is spectacular but because there aren't many options around here. It's standard Popeyes fare but this one looks like one that should be in the projects. For the money it makes, I'm sure some external updating wouldn't hurt!!!

Pros: Popeye's chicken is the best! Cons: Poor customer service. Tip: make sure your not too hungry when you order. Because of the poor service and LONG wait, you might lose your appetite.

Love that chicken from Popeye's its just the staff at this site. Usually I go inside to experience the disdain of the staff and long wait. No line at drive thru give it a shot. Going through the drive thu is an experience. First the speaker system is horrible then when you mumble through it I could only say excuse me and what so many times. So I thought I would just clarify it at the window. To my surprise it is a rotating cylinder like when you put your pee sample in at the doctors office and another speaker. So we began the what game again finally I said like the poster in the window, popcorn chicken. My mistake, there was a chicken tenders poster too. So the food comes and they rotate it out with no thank you. Maybe they did but the fine intercom didn't pick it up. Guess what I got, yes the tenders and not the popcorn, should have checked the bag. So you learn, if you want Popeye's from the only location nearby, go inside, endure the wait and experience the indifference of the staff face to face.

Forget it. I just tried to go through the drive through and no one was there to take my order, just someone who said, "Just a minute." I waited seven minutes, which was how long it took the guy in front of me to pull ahead, wait at the window, and do the song-and-dance through the security drawer. This restaurant is in a good neighborhood; it doesn't need the security drawer. Given the dilapidated condition of the drive through signs and the general ratty appearance of the outside of the restaurant, I didn't feel like taking a chance with their food's quality or cleanliness, and I just left behind the car in front of me. When I drove through the dining room didn't look terribly busy, so I don't know what the holdup was.

While the food is good you must make sure to check your receipt to verify you aren't overcharged. Plus check your order to make sure everything is included! They are certainly not the fastest service so be sure to go into the restaurant, I'm not sure how well they would do if you used the drive thru!

Drive through takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And you would have to be insane to go on a Tuesday. The line is stupid long for that 2pc Tuesday! (Cheap folks) For best service you should go inside and watch your order being made. The chick covering the drive thru can not understand the difference between strips and chicken. They have screwed me over twice by giving me 14 pieces of random chicken parts instead of strips. The one time I caught be before leaving and I told the girl I asked for strips she got an attitude with me, snatched the box back and told me I didnt say strips. Ummm ok. I'm on a popeye's strike for a while. I'll visit KFC for hot wings for the next few months when I get a chicken craving.

Could you guys mow the drive-thru please? Looks like a swamp back here, are you still in business? The path is so damn narrow. Service is quick. Location is not easily accessible for traffic heading West bound on Golf, during high traffic.

Don't get me wrong. I love Popeye's alot. The one star is the for the terrible service the provide. We went drive-through a car in front of us was having an argument with the staff. It was so loud that everyone outside noticed. Had to wait ten minutes before someone took my order. They keep putting me on hold. I loudly yell for my order so that they won't missed any (like my previous trip there). Not only did they forgot one order (mashed potato with cajun gravy) the also charged us for this. So I have had it with this branch. Poor service with a very nasty attitude staff- particularly a lady named Ashley. Would not even greet you to say hello. I'll to the Mount Prospect branch from now on. So for your own good, avoid this branch unless you are looking for attitude plus bad service!

Love that Chicken at Popeeeeeeeeeeeeye's. I don't care how many people will write that in their reviews, it must be said. It looks like a piece of crap inside and it's a chain so you can't even pawn it off on being a mom and pop chicken shop and therefore it's going to be amazing. You need to trust your nose, your gut, and yelp on this one. This is some AWESOME chicken, their potatoes are also amazing, and if you leave this place without having at least carried out their buns, you're a nut job and need counciling. SO GOOD, the only other biscuits I've had that are better than at Popeye's are at Red Lobster. If you hate butter, you'll growl at me for recommending the biscuits, but who in their right mind hates the delicious taste of buttery goodness? Service? Obnoxious. Keep reminding yourself you're here for the food. Red beans and rice is my favorite side. Apparently to add to their fried chicken pieces they now have a 'chicken bowl' which I guess they nabbed off of KFC, and a chicken sandwich as well as chicken tenders. It sounds very fat of me, but I can't wait to consume the tenders and bowl and let you know how it tastes.

Out of all the fast food places that serve deep fried chicken, Popeyes is the best. The chicken is mighty tasty and their biscuits have changed my life.

i go there often, mostly not for the fried chicken, but their Cajun Rice. Now I must say that at some occasions the rice is somewhat weird tasting (not completely cooked, or cold), but most of the time it is good.
